End Of An Era

I remember when I found Modcloth online. It was about ten years ago. I was so excited to see vintage styled clothing from indie designers. I bought so many things over the years. They changed how I looked at fashion. 

Now, as you may have heard, they have sold out to Walmart. I am angry. I am sad. I am shocked. They left behind their ideals and went with one of the worse companies in the USA.

I don't shop Walmart. Their human rights violations and other business practices make them a place I refuse to step foot in. 

Goodbye Modcloth. We loved you well but you are dead to us now.

I plan on buying from ASOS now and maybe checking out a few other English companies.

It is the end of an era and so I shall mourn.

Contouring Over 50

I recently started using contour techniques on my face. It felt weird at first. I watched many YouTube videos to learn the techniques. I mainly do along my jawline. I don't think I will ever have any "work" done in my face so these fool the eye,  contouring techniques help to make my face look more lifted.

You can barely see that I have sagging at the end of my trans labial fold. 

While not a permanent fix, I will take it for now.

You can use any contouring kit to get this look. I used Julep's Skip the brush. I actually did use a brush to soften the edges and then applied translucent powder over all.

I am thinking of doing a video on how I did this. My last contouring video was when I was first starting out ;)

Scrub-a-dub

In one of my Sephora Play boxes. I got a tube of Tarte's Frxxxtion Stick. I don't often use a manual scrub as they can be too harsh.

So I tried it for the first time today. While it felt like it was doing a very good job at scrubbing, it didn't feel too harsh. My skin felt amazingly smoooth after I rinsed it off.

My face is not anymore red than it was to start with. I will definitely add it to my weekly skincare regime.

Age Is Just A Number

The Trouble with Travel

The trouble with travel can be summed up by this picture. Attempting to fit tiny bottles of skin care, hair care, face care, and make-up items into a tiny quart sized plastic bag. The pain is real. What to keep and what to leave behind? The ban on liquids impacts women by far more than men. Do you know a man that uses ten products on his face every night? My husband uses a bar of soap. I use four different hair treatments to help tame my locks and that is not including shampoo. My husband uses a bar of soap. I don't even want to talk about make-up... quellé horror!

So every time I fly I have to pick and choose and then try to get what it left shoved in that damn bag.

I really don't see how my lipstick and eyeliner is such a threat to national security.

No Quarter

I usually post about style here. Not today. I feel very strongly about supporting human rights. I am just not feeling make up and clothes right now. If you love your country, then get involved. Call, e-mail, or   write a government representative. Join a March or protest. Run for office. Vote. Just don't do nothing.
