Layers Take the Cake

One awesome thing about the colder weather is being able to wear layers. On a recent trip to Goodwill I found this stripey dress and soft grey long sleeve top. A lace cami, knit tights and retro styled shoes were icing on the cake. This was a fun outfit to wear and kept me toasty warm for a day out and about town :)

Wardrobe Clean Up

 Winter is a great time to either start a wardrobe clean up or continue one started earlier in the year. I had previously gone through my summer clothes and let go of a huge bag worth of them. I am now ready to go through my fall and winter clothes and pare them down as well.

My closet as of now is still a jumbled mess. I have banned myself from any further clothing or shoe purchases until I have reduced it all by at least a third. I also have purchased a closet organization system that will be going in this week. ALL the clothes will be coming out of my closet at that time and only what fits my style, as in colours that compliment me, and what can make up more than two outfits can stay. All worn items and what do not fit/belong stylistically will be donated or sold. I am determined to get a handle on this overflowing closet situation and to wear more of what I have. I will keep you updated on the progress. Wish me luck!

Oh My Granny!

I don't know if it is just the colder weather or if I am turning into my grandmother, but I am terribly excited by this awesome find from Goodwill. I mean, who doesn't love a granny square bedecked ruana? I know I will be spending many hours cuddled up in it. Keep warm my friends!

My Disorganized Life

Try as I might to downsize my wardrobe and become organized I always seem to fail. I have such a hard time letting things go. I just bought a new app called Stylebook for iPhone and iPad and am in the process of adding my entire wardrobe into it. I am hoping that it will help me track what I wear the most, inspire me to make new outfits and most importantly of all, discard what is not working well with my clothes. We shall see. At $3.99 it is a small investment towards more closet/storage space.

You Got Nails!

Yes, I admit it. I have been bitten by the nail polish bug. I love those pretty bottles of colour. I just hate paying full price. One way to find deals is to join a Facebook swap group such as Julep Swap. You can also sign up to mailing lists
for your fav polish company so you can be let in on sales or haunt TJ Maxx or Marshall's for sale polish. Even Ulta has a clearance section and bottles of premium polish have been found for only 49 cents!

Now that you have your polish it is time to head to Pinterest to find a cool design and get those digits painted!
